Loligo reynaudii is widely distributed in a diverse and variable environment, primarily found between the Orange River and Port Alfred, with significant populations also present in Southern Angola where spawning takes place.
Our Squid is Jigger caught in the area FAO47 South Atlantic and discharged from HACCP approved Vessels, the squid is then packed in our EU, HACCP, PPECB, NCRS and FDA approved processing facility ready for export.
The season for the Squid - Loligo Reynaudii begin on the 23rd of November and runs to end March, this is followed by a 3-month mid-season break which coincides with the main spawning period of the squid. The season resumes on the 1st of July and ends 19th October. The end of season break between the new season also coincides with a spawning period.
The fresh squid will be IQF/IWP at the processing plant then packed in boxes of 5Kg’s. The boxes are packed with the size of the squid, which is Extra Large, Large, Medium and small.
